# Toon Tone

> A browser-based color memory game: match the exact signature color of a cartoon character (or famous brand) from memory by dragging hue, saturation, and brightness sliders.

Toon Tone shows you a familiar cartoon character (or brand logo) with one piece of their iconic color punched out — that region of the image is transparent and reveals whatever color you build with the sliders. You move three sliders — hue, saturation, brightness — to recreate the color from memory. The closer your guess to the official cel-paint or brand-book hex, the higher the round score.

Two game tracks share the same engine and slider mechanic:

- **Characters** — 43 questions across 38 cartoon characters from shows like Pokémon, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Simpsons, Dragon Ball Z, South Park, Avatar: The Last Airbender, My Hero Academia, Ben 10, Adventure Time, Futurama, Peanuts, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Johnny Bravo, and Looney Tunes.
- **Brand colors** — 20 questions across globally recognized brand logos: Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Tiffany & Co., McDonald's, Starbucks, Ferrari, Hermès, Cadbury, Heinz, UPS, YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook, Amazon, LEGO, IKEA, FedEx, Mastercard, Spotify, Microsoft.

The site has nine locales: English (canonical), Brazilian Portuguese under `/pt/`, Spanish under `/es/`, German under `/de/`, Russian under `/ru/`, French under `/fr/`, Turkish under `/tr/`, Polish under `/pl/`, Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) under `/zh-TW/`. The same content structure is mirrored under each locale prefix; translations are hand-written using native idiom, including localized show titles (e.g. "Avatar – Der Herr der Elemente" in German, "Аватар: Легенда об Аанге" in Russian, "探險活寶" for Adventure Time in zh-TW) and dub character names (e.g. "Bob Esponja" in Portuguese, "Homero Simpson" in Latin American Spanish, "Seppl" for Dopey in German, "Простачок" for Dopey in Russian, "Sangoku" for Goku in French, "Kubuś Puchatek" for Winnie the Pooh in Polish, "孫悟空" for Goku in zh-TW).

## Character color library

Hand-written color studies for the cartoon characters featured in the game. Each page breaks down the exact hex, the HEX/RGB/HSB/HSL decomposition, production-era context for why the color was chosen, and a slider-by-slider matching strategy calibrated to that specific hex. All 5 locales translated by hand with native phrasing.
