EVERY COLOR HAS A STORY

The Toon Tone color library

Every cartoon character in Toon Tone has one signature color the game asks you to remember. These pages break each color down — the hex, the HSB, the reason that exact shade was chosen, and the matching mistakes that cost players points in a round. Hand-written; one character at a time.

What you'll find on each page

  • The portrait and the color. The cartoon image used in the game, paired with the exact hex value sourced from the original color reference.
  • A full breakdown. HEX, RGB, HSB, and HSL — four ways of describing the same color, with each dimension mapped to a slider in the game.
  • Why this color exists. The studio context, the production-era considerations, and the design choices that locked the character into this specific shade.
  • How to match it from memory. The two or three corrections most players need to make against their instinct — calibrated to this exact hex, not generic color advice.
  • Adjacent tones that fool the eye. A row of five nearby colors that look correct in isolation but drop the round score.
