HOW IT WORKS

A color memory game with no shortcuts.

In this cartoon color guessing game, one color is missing from a cartoon scene — Patrick Star's shorts, Bart Simpson's shirt, Kenny McCormick's parka — and you slide your way back to the exact hue from memory.

  1. One color goes missing.

Every round whitens one body part or accessory on a familiar cartoon character. The pool refreshes weekly — memory isn't the only thing being tested over time.

  2. Use the HSB sliders.

The HSB sliders — Hue, Saturation, Brightness — set what you remember the color being. No second tries within a round, so first impression matters.

  3. Score against the source.

Your pick is compared to the official cartoon color in sRGB. 10 is a perfect tone match, 0 is pure white. Five rounds per Toon Tone game, averaged, plus a daily leaderboard.

FAQ

Toon Tone FAQ

What is Toon Tone?

Toon Tone is a free browser color guessing game. Each round asks you to remember a cartoon character color and rebuild it with hue, saturation, and brightness controls.

How do you play Toon Tone?

Study the target character part, adjust the HSB sliders until your guess matches the remembered color, then submit to see your score and the original color.

Is ToonTone the same as Toon Tone?

Yes. ToonTone is the no-space spelling of Toon Tone. The official cartoon color guessing game is at toontone.app.

Is Toon Tone free?

Yes. Toon Tone runs in the browser and does not require a download, account, or payment.

How is this Toon Tone different from others?

This is the Toon Tone built and maintained by Sam at toontone.app, with weekly character drops, multilingual play (English, Russian, German, Spanish, Portuguese), and a public leaderboard. Other Toon Tone sites exist online with their own focus.

What does the Toon Tone score measure?

Each round is scored from 0.00 to 10.00. The closer your color looks to the real hidden color, the closer you get to 10.00. If you use a hint, that round loses 1 point, so even a great hinted guess has a lower ceiling.

How is my final score calculated?

A full game has five rounds. Your five round scores are added together and divided by five. A 9.00 average means you were very close across the whole run, not just lucky once.

How does my message get on the wall?

After your final score, tap Post to wall. Your name is optional, and the message is already filled in for you. The wall banner draws from posts in the last 3 days, using a 70/30 mix: about 70% recent high-score posts and about 30% newest posts. Any posted score of 8.00+ counts as high score and shows the TOP SCORER label; regular recent posts show NEW POST.

Does the game work on mobile?

Yes. It is built as a responsive web game and can be played on phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop browsers.

Is the game affiliated with any cartoon studio?

No. This is an independent fan-made color memory game and is not affiliated with any cartoon studio, network, or rights holder.

Are Toon Tone Game, Toone Tone, or Toon Toon Game the same game?

Yes. These typo variants usually mean the same cartoon color guessing game. Related queries include tone game, toon tone color, color toon, toone tone color, tone toon cartoon, toon tone cartoon, and toon toon cartoon.
